THE CANYON

The Tinajani Canyon holds thousands of years of history in this tucked-away location in southern Peru. The otherworldly red rock walls tell stories of pre-Inca civilizations, dating back over three millennia. Water and wind have molded the landscape since, leaving behind a stone forest that has long been understood by its inhabitants through a rich tradition of folklore. To explore Tinajani is to embark on a raw adventure—to get acquainted with terrain that few travelers have walked upon.
THE HAMLET

The blink-and-miss hamlet of Tinajani allows the vastness of the valley to take center stage. A collection of adobe buildings and remnants of a former sheep farm now house our communal spaces, like a dining room and a quincho barbecue, and intimate areas like quiet reading corners and outdoor fire pits. Just 6 safari-style campamentos are offered, for only 12 guests total. Throughout the tented hamlet, heritage textiles and artisan crafts adorn the walls offering a sense of place, and a connection to Tinajani’s thousands of years of human history.
